Savannah Harbor Golf Club
The Par King and the Golf Goddess had the good fortune to play at Savannah Harbor Golf Club the other day. Golf fans will know that the Champions Tour plays the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf tournament there every year.
The course was very wet and the rough had not been cut for a while. I now know what the Pro’s put up with at their venues when they let the rough grow, it is really tough! That being said, this was a really beautiful golf course. Lush fairways and very large greens that looked and rolled like they were carpeted. The front nine was very wide open with very few trees lining the fairways. The back nine is a lot more scenic, with trees and water lining the fairways.
This is a first class resort, and it shows in the service that is offered to every guest. The staff in the Pro Shop, the folks at the bag drop and the restaurant staff were all very accommodating and friendly. I particularly liked this course because I broke 80 for the first time in 2007.
Savannah Harbor Golf Club is located at the Westin Resort and Conference Ctr. in Savannah, Ga.
