If you were a frequent vistor to Hilton Head Island during the
summertime, you are well aware of the traffic headaches
on the mainland in Bluffton. Some Saturdays it could take
visitors over two hours to get from I-95 to the bridges
of Hilton Head Island.

In October, 2006 construction was finished on the widening
of Rt.278 between Belfair Plaza and Moss Creek in Bluffton.
In each direction you will find three lanes of traffic, that will ease the congestion. Also be prepared that many of
crossing lanes have now changed.

So on your next visit, smile because your trip just got a
little easier!
