Hilton Head Island restaurant review Gruby’s New York Deli
I’m from the south, and I’m definitely not a city girl; nevertheless, I get an occasional hankering for an authentic New York-style deli sandwich. Hilton Head Island restaurant, Gruby’s New York Deli, located in the Fresh Market Shoppes, has a down-home feel with big city taste.
There’s nothing fancy about it, but there’s no better place for a
custom-built sandwich, starting with a choice of homemade breads and great tasting deli meats. Although I’ve never had one, the hot dogs look appetizing, too.
Skip the cookies at the checkout counter. They look good, but I find them to be a bit dry and tasteless. Satisfy your sweet tooth at the Cold Stone Creamery, just a few doors down in the same shopping center.

This has the best sandwiches on the island. Their fries and Knishes are also excellent. When I am in the mood for a good Pastrami sandwich this is the place to go. Breakfast is also excellent and their lox platter although pricey is very good. This is the place to stop for poeple from the Northeast and anywhere else.
