Have a Happy Hilton Head Halloween
Halloween on the island promises to be a blast this year. With seasonal temperatures mild and inviting, the evening festivities are sure to be first rate. Spending Halloween on Hilton Head means no bulky coats over that great costume you’ve been dying to wear! Kick off the holiday a few days early at Jarvis Creek Park on Friday, October 26th for a fun night at the Salty Dog Pumpkin Patch. From 5:00-6:00pm, enjoy a hayride, costume contest, carnival games and pumpkin painting. Fun for all ages! Don’t forget to take the kids Trick or Treating at the Coligny Plaza Halloween Carnival before or after hitting the park. Merchants will have candy available from 4:00-8:00pm. You’ll also find a dunking booth, a jumbo slide, music and a costume contest while you’re there. On Saturday morning, head across the bridge and visit with our neighbors to the West. Enjoy the wares of local artists and irresistible lowcountry cuisine at the Historic Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival on downtown Calhoun Street (10:00am-5:00pm). If you have younger kids in tow, check out Saturday’s Halloween Hayrides at the Sea Pines Resort Forest Preserve from 1-2 p.m. and 2:15-3:15 p.m. Since the weekend lasts five days when you’re on vacation, head to Café Rebecca’s on Monday night for a food and wine pairing class entitled “Bewitching Treats” (call 843-706-9693 to reserve your seat). When Halloween night finally rolls around, you’d be a “ghoul” not to partake in Trick or Treat at the Shelter Cove Mall. Safe, fun and rain proof, the mall will play host to live music and entertainment from 5:00-7:00pm (we hear they plan to have a clown). Kids 12 and under are invited to Trick or Treat in the stores. Good excuse to shop, mom!
