There are plenty of places you can celebrate the year’s end on Hilton Head Island. Area bars and clubs will be open until 2 a.m. and taxis are usually available 24/7, just remember to have a little extra cash on hand.

A fund raiser for the Sandbox Children’s Museum, an interactive learning center, will take place from 7:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. at the Westin Resort on Hilton Head Island. The event will include live entertainment by Second Coming, a silent auction, seafood, champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. Tickets are $125, and tables of 10 are available for $1,100. Hilton Head’s triangle of bars, including One Hot Mama’s, the Lodge and the Brew Pub, on the south end off Greenwood Drive will be open until 2 a.m. One Hot Mama’s will have a Jägermeister toast and a balloon drop at midnight.

Hilton Head Oceanfront Resort will have a New Year’s Eve Gala buffet from 7:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. that includes a seafood raw bar, prime rib, chicken, pork and fish, as well as a pasta station and specialty desserts. Additionally, there will be an unlimited open bar, champagne toast at midnight, balloon drop, party favors and live entertainment with Motion. The cost is $125 per person. Autumn is one of the best times to visit Hilton Head Island. Nearly all of the seasonal establishments are still open for business, the bulk of the crowds are gone and the tell-tale summer traffic is to a minimum. A cool day may show up on occasion, with thermostats reading in the high 60’s. Looking for a new way to ring in the New Year 2007? The evening is a benefit for The Sandbox, an interactive children’s museum here on Hilton Head.

Hilton Head Clubs and Nightlife ~ New Years Eve

Whether you’re coming to Hilton Head Island to visit friends, escape the snow or just escape, December is an interesting time to visit. While a bit chilly for swimming in the ocean, there’s typically plenty of sunshine, making for pleasant beach walks, bike rides, golfing and tennis.

If you’re looking for something to do when the sun goes down, don’t miss the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina’s production of the Irving Berlin classic, “White Christmas,” December 6-30. You may be surprised by the quality of the acting and the overall professionalism—several notches above your typical community theatre. With top notch commissioned actors and truly exceptional local talent, this is real theatre.

The Boathouse II had the first annual Bachelors Night Thursday, Nov.16, 2006. To put it mildly, it was a great success. Standing room only and no extra room to ramble. The restaurant served free hors d’oeuvres and had reduced prices on drinks. My wife, a couple of female friends and I decided to check it out.

There were 15 local gentlemen who were introduced to the
screaming throng of young and not so young women in attendance. Later votes were cast and finalists were chosen, the winner will be selected by internet votes.

The lucky winner will receive a cash award plus free Limo
service for a year. Next years event will have to be held
somewhere with a lot more room if this was any indication of
how the event would be received.
