The Chamber of Commerce presents “A Taste of the Musical Season” at the First Presbyterian Church on Friday, September 21st. This event features the talent of the lowcountry with our best choruses, bands, and theatre groups. Tickets are available at the door for $10. Hilton Head Area Hospitality Association presents their annual FoodFest to be held September 10 – 16, 2007. Island residents and visitors are invited to sample selections from various restaurants and talented chefs from the area. The event has expanded from a one day five hour event to a multiple day food celebration. More than 13 events and activities are scheduled. Some of the events will begin at individual restaurants and others will take place at the festival’s central location of Shelter Cove Community Park on Hilton Head Island. Events include; Best Bartenders Drink Making Contest, Hospitality Waiters Race, and the Tailgate Gourmet Challenge where local chefs and others perform their culinary expertise in the outdoor tailgate kitchen.
Be sure not to miss this culinary festival of food that showcases the talent of Hilton Head Island, Bluffton and South Carolina.

Every year you can find a great mix of locals, guests and celebrities on Hilton Head Island area golf courses. All are here to have fun, see old friends and make new ones, all while raising funds for 18 local children’s charities. To date, this event has raised over $2,785,000.00.
This year’s events, all with 9:00 am shot gun starts, kicks off Friday August 31 at the Golf Club at Indigo Run. On Saturday September 1 the tournament will make a stop
at the Robert Trent Jones Course at Palmetto Dunes. To cap the weekend off, all will head once again to the Harbour Town Golf Links at the Sea Pines Resort.
This year’s celebrities will include sports figures, broadcasters and actors. Also playing this year will be service members from the Marine Corps Air Station in Beaufort, SC who have recently served in Iraq and FDNY Firefighters Steve Rogers, John McConnachie, Danny Keane, Pat Zoda and Ed Fahey. Their Fire Company was featured in the world-renowned film documentary “9/11″.
